HECATE WP3 Workshop: Successful Assembly of 3D-Printed Plastic Housings with SSPMs
The HECATE project continues to advance the future of aircraft power distribution. On February 5, 2025, Work Package 3 (WP3) – Secondary Power Distribution hosted a workshop with participants from the University of Bayreuth and Collins Nördlingen at the facility in Nördlingen.
During the workshop, a key milestone was achieved: the successful integration of Solid-State Power Modules (SSPMs) into 3D-printed plastic housings. This marks an important step in validating the feasibility of lightweight, additively manufactured components for next-generation power distribution systems.
By leveraging state-of-the-art 3D printing technology, the team aims to reduce weight, enhance efficiency, and improve sustainability in aviation. The workshop provided an excellent platform for hands-on assembly, technical discussions, and planning for the next development steps.
Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to push the boundaries of innovation in Clean Aviation!
